Race format

For 2007, the race format has been officially changed. The format for Monday nights will now be each driver has one heat on all 6 lanes, with the best 5 lap/footage totals counting towards the Final, overall result(s). Each heat will be 2 minutes.

For the Endurance Series, each driver has one heat on all 6 lanes, with all 6 lap/footage totals counting towards the final, overall result(s). Each heat will be 3 minutes. (Please remember for 2008, you will have to provide your own car for the Endurance Series). The rotation system works from red lane to yellow lane. So you would move from red to white, green, orange, blue then yellow (the rotation system is in place for all 3 classes).

Marshalling and general race rules

Marshals:

  • Please avoid wearing any loose fitting clothes that may dangle on the track.
  • Each driver after their heat MUST marshal. Any driver repeatedly avoiding marshalling for no reason may have their points for the night removed.
  • Please try to concentrate on your corner(s), in order to marshal cars as quickly as possible. Also try to avoid too much chit chat whilst people are racing.
  • If two or more cars de slot at your corner, try and replace the innocent car first if possible. (Remember you may also call track to pause the race, whilst the cars are returned to the track).
  • Avoid eating or drinking when marshalling, thank you.

General race rules:

  • All cars placed on the track must be dry. No oil on the bottom of the car with the tyres also being dry to the touch.
  • No shouting at the Marshals please. Remember they are there to correct your mistakes.
  • Please display a clear colour lane sticker (provided by the club on the sticker board) on either the bonnet or windscreen of your car, to aid marshalling.
  • If you are running your car with the body loose, please tape up any screws that may fall out into/onto the track. (black tape provided on the sticker board).
